Teaching

The examination is strictly based on the IJMB syllabus which covered the 100 level and beyond of University education in each subject. The syllabus must be taught over the period of 12 months. Subjects differed in their structures and mode of operation, details of which are contained in the IJMBE syllabus. The syllabus contain the number of questions for each paper, the number of question to be answered and the time allocated for each paper for all the subjects.

Teaching and learning period is twelve (12) months, which is strictly monitored through documentation of candidates’ registration at Secretariat immediately after the completion of registration at the institution. No candidate can be presented for examination before the twelve (12) months duration. The examination is administered at the affiliated institutions by Supervisors appointed by the Secretariat. These Supervisors comprise mainly of representatives from the affiliated institutions and some senior academics from the University (if the need arises).

The entire examination process is moderated by JAMB through their appointed Moderators selected from various Nigerian Universities. The examination is graded and the results processed under strict control of Chief Examiners, JAMB Representatives and the Secretariat.

Students are assessed in the subjects in two ways that is the continuous assessment which is an integral part of the IJMB Examination and the final examination after the course of studies. The continuous assessment constitute 20% of the final score is the cumulative of class attendance (at least 75% required), test, assignments, practical, etc. while the examinations constitute 80% of the final score. Before a candidate can write the A/L IJMB Examination, he/she must have evidence full participation in class activities as evident by the C.A. result.
