Academic Committee

The IJMB has an academic committee, which acts as the think-tank of the Board on the over-all academic matters. The membership of the Academic Committee is as follows:

  • Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic)- Chairman
  • Registrar, JAMB or his Representative
  • Academic Secretary, A.B.U.
  • Assistant Coordinators for Examinations, Operations and Logistics
  • All Chief Examiners
  • A quarter of the heads of affiliated Institutions on rotational basis
  • IJMB Coordinator - Secretary

Responsibilities

The Committee’s responsibilities are:

  • To consider any existing syllabi in their area of competence and initiate changes considered desirable.
  • To consider any existing examination regulations with regard to their subject area and initiate changes as may be desirable.
  • To advise on when such changes should be effective
  • To advise on suitable textbooks and other instructional materials.
  • To consider the examination grading system emanating from the subject panels.
  • To consider the examination malpractice reports.
